  Pinus Mugo is one of the most common conifers found in high-altitude areas. These plants can be identified by their narrow leaves and short branches, which give them an appearance much like a tree trunk when seen up close or from afar.

The Mugo Pine is a small, deep green tree that grows in tight circles. It has stiff needles and 2 inch brown cones with seed pods found at the end of its long slender branches. Mugo Pines are native to Spain east as far as Bulgaria but can also be found throughout North Africa on mountainsides above 1200 meters where they live under moderate light shade or full sun conditions depending upon soil type preference while needing well drained loamy rich dirt.

  Mugo Pine is a native tree to the mountains of Spain and east across Europe. As it matures, Mugo Pines become small with large branches up high 15’-20'(H) x 20'-30'. They only grow 5 - 10 feet tall in just 10 years.
